The Freshers’ Cup is a four round debating competition for those who have not debated at university level before. Over 70 people debated last year and it was of a very high quality throughout. It is the perfect way to get involved in the society and it introduces participants to the nature of competitive debating.
We’ll be holding the Cup again in November 2012. Look out for announcements at the start of the Autumn term.

2010 Freshers Cup
The winners were Hannah Bishop and Steven Smith, and the best speaker was Holly Edwards.
2009 Allen & Overy Freshers’ Cup
The winning team were Amanda Moorghen and Richard Waite. Best speaker in the final was Alex Jaeger and Amanda won best speaker on tab.
